Impeccable taste, delicious food, and a flair for entertaining: These are things we now associate with yummy mummy Gwyneth Paltrowsince the launch of Goop, her newsletter turned e-commerce behemoth, in 2008. And the Goop x Net-a-Porter party, hosted by Paltrow and Alison Loehnis, president of Net-a-Porter, was absolutely no exception.
The midsummer soiree was held in Amagansett, New York—one of the chiller pockets of the Hamptons—at a private residence. A whimsical vibe was in the cool beachside air: Strings of Burning Man–inspired, colorful balloons floated high above the property; a tarot card reader regaled attendees with tales of their futures; a beautiful moon backdrop was used for people to pose for tintypes (old-fashioned developed photos to be received in the mail in a month); and a live band replete with a cello, accordion, and guitar played throughout the night.
Paltrow flitted about, warmly welcoming guests and looking radiant in a cream column dress fromMaison Margiela. Her posse was on hand, too, from mother Blythe Danner to best friend, fitness guru Tracy Anderson. And, of course, the outfits didn’t disappoint. Stylist Kate Foley rocked a pleated taupeSunodress; Loehnis wore a chartreuseEmilia Wicksteadjumpsuit; andHannah Bronfman, who got the crowd dancing with her late-night DJ set, sported a red silk Nili Lotan slip.
Unsurprisingly, the food was as well done as the setting—mini lobster rolls with miso-buttered sweet potato fries and Balsam Farms tomatoes with ricotta along with fresh clams and oysters. The drinks were equally as artful; there were two bars: a full cocktail bar and a cold-pressed juice and tequila station. And for the college nostalgic, a rosé pong table. Only in the Hamptons.
I’m a little bit disappointed that I’ll be in the Hamptons just weeks after this as of course I would have done everything and anything to gatecrash!
